Yale hosted Harvard at Fairfield University for the Cormack Cup. Yale started slowly and fell behind but managed to claw their way back into the game and were leading 16-14 just before half time. A defensive lapse allowed Harvard to score under the posts to go into half time with a slender 21-16 lead. Yale started the second half in the worst possible way as they completely switched off defensively and allowed Harvard time and space. Harvard took these opportunities and piled on 28 unanswered points. Yale showed determination and fought back with two second-half tries that secured a losing bonus point.
It was a bitterly disappointing way to lose the Cormack Cup but invaluable experience for the team. Yale now focuses on playing Brown on October 12th in Providence.
